Joshua Tree National Park

The landscape that we see today was born more than 100 million years ago. Molten liquid, heated by continuous movement of the Earth's crust, oozed upward and cooled while still beneath the surface. Later water and erosion exposed the strange-shaped stones which slowly weathered.
